The NCWorks Career Centers in Cabarrus and Anson counties have new faces leading both NCWorks teams. Denisha Torrence-Nesbit, former Business Services Consultant for Centralina Workforce Services is the new Center Leader for the NCWorks Career Center-Cabarrus. Monica Gramling, has been named the new Center Leader for the NCWorks Career Center-Anson.
MEET DENISHA TORRENCE-NESBIT, New Center Leader for NCWorks Career Center-Cabarrus
Denisha Torrence-Nesbit previous served Cabarrus, Lincoln, and Iredell counties for the last four years as the Business Services Consultant for Centralina Workforce Services. She was responsible for connecting employers with job seekers hosting job fairs and hiring events helping recruit talent.
Torrence has a combination of 14 years of workforce development experience. In her previous role prior to Centralina Workforce Services, she was a Case Manager with Salisbury-Rowan Community Action Agency as well as the Assistant Program Director of the Family Self-Sufficiency Program. She is also a native of Cabarrus County, a graduate of A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis, and a member of New Life Baptist Church in Concord.
"I'm deeply rooted in the county and I have children who attend Cabarrus County Schools, " Torrence said.
She is currently the Vice-Chair for the Cabarrus Partnership for Children and Treasurer for a local civic organization.
"Being a native of Cabarrus County as well as my previous roles helped me to stay connected with multiple organizations, partners, and businesses," Torrence said.
MEET MONICA GRAMLING-New Center Leader for NCWorks Career Center-Anson
Monica Gramling's background is in business management with over 12 years of experience. She is new to the workforce development world; however, she has worked in the Anson County community for many years. Gramling was an owner of a mental health agency for quite some time. While in this role, she developed a strong relationship within the community with local officials, governments agencies, and schools. Her company assisted families with housing and employment needs.
Gramling has a great deal of experience working with youth as she is the youth director at a local church.
"My goal is to create awareness in this role by explaining the benefits of our system and services while encouraging people to utilize it to their advantage," Gramling said.
