The Centralina Workforce Development Board (WDB) has hired Anna Lu Wilson as its Business Engagement Coordinator effective Tuesday, October 30, 2018. She will work directly with Centralina WDB Business Services Leader Mark Seifel and the NCWorks Centralina team.

Originally from Illinois, Wilson moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 1995 after receiving her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and working in the hospitality industry for a few years.

Once in Charlotte, Wilson began working for the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce and eventually becoming its Economic Development Director.

Then in 2008 she joined the Cabarrus Economic Development working in business services and engagement. In 2014, Wilson was named the Economic Development Director for the town of Harrisburg and served in that position until the summer of 2017.

As a former economic director, Wilson says she was always building relationships within the local business community and is ready to use those skills again in the Centralina WDB region.

“I am looking forward to getting back to working with businesses and trying to help them and connect them with the resources that are available,” said Wilson.  

While in college Wilson played basketball and is a fan of the North Carolina Tarheels and the Chicago Cubs. Anna Lu is also a wife and a mother of two.
